Gregory Jackson, Jr.

Gregory is co-founder of and lead steward for Repaired Nations. Early on, he recognized that many social problems are rooted in the unequal distribution of wealth and decision-making power. As a youth, he witnessed the perils of imbalanced decision-making power as his father’s towing business was affected by inequitable bargaining and payment practices. Gregory’s work is focused on cooperative business development in Black communities, like his home in East Oakland, California. In 2020, following his Equal Justice Works Fellowship with the Sustainable Economies Law Center, Gregory was named Cross-Sector Champion of the Year by the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives. In 2021, he was also named an Echoing Green Fellow.
